Clare Bulb Co comment: Tarda (also known as Dasystemon) is a very early tulip, which will spread if planted under trees, or anywhere where it will not be disturbed. In the picture above, taken at our home, they have been planted in front of the house, in a very dry bed. They can also give early colour in a container, as below. The flowers open in the sun, within minutes in fact.
