Clare Bulb Co comment: The yellow Crown Imperial Lutea is perhaps the most splendid of all the spring bulbs. It can be grown in the garden, preferably in shade, or in woodland, where it is a useful woodland bulb, We have some that are now 15 years old, as in the top picture.  They make a long-lasting cut flower as well.
