Variety: Freesias
Flowering height: 12 ins
Month:  May into June
Clare Bulb Co comment: Freesias are corms, and produce very colourful and highly scented flowers on one side of their stems. They flower about four months after planting.
They can be planted in open soil, if the conditions in the growing season are dry and sunny. We however prefer to plant them in pots and to let them over-winter in the greenhouse, with a minimum amount of moisture. In due course they will produce a growing tip, at which point they will need a bit of watering, nut not too much. Once they have developed a proper stem we either plant out, or pick for the house.
