Variety: Tamara (King Alfred type) |
Flowering heights: 18 to 22 ins |
Month: March |
Clare Bulb Co comment:
The best known of all daffodil
varieties, King Alfred was for many years gardeners' first choice, as it
represented the best combination of daffodil's qualities: not too tall, quite early, large flowered, and a good
naturaliser. It was however prone to disease, and is now very difficult
to find commercially. We now sell the variety Tamara,
which has all of King Alfred's characteristics, whilst being at the same
time very disease resistant.
