Nerine Bowdenii |
Pink Triumph |
| Variety: Nerine, (The Guernsey Lily) | |
| Flowering height: 12 to 18 ins | |
| Month(s): September / October | |
| Cultivation tips: A bulbous perennial, producing flowers in clusters up to 15cm (6in) wide. A useful autumn flowering bulb for a border, by a sunny wall or near a fence. Preferably leave undisturbed for several years, performs well when overcrowded, as this improves flowering. No fresh manure should be added. Best planted at the surface, or at most, to a depth of about 2.5cm (1in). Hardy, though will not survive very low temperatures in wet conditions. Soil which may lie wet through the winter should be lightened with grit or similar before planting. Can be covered with a mulch of straw or bracken in very exposed areas. Flowers early autumn | |
