Aconites: Winter Aconites, the earliest of them all. Aconites spread naturally, and provide a welcoming first glimpse of spring. Try them in a seed-tray to start with. When they show, transplant to their final position. |

English Bluebells: Now grown under controlled conditions, to protect bluebells in the wild, the Scilla non-Scripta has become very expensive. Anemones Blanda: also known as Wood Anemones, or Grecian Anemones. Short, daisy-like flowers that flower in the early spring. They look charming under trees, and can make useful clumps. We find that white Blanda does particularly well. Blandas will also form drifts over a period of time. Before planting it is a good idea to soak the corms in water for an hour or two, to promote early growth. |
